A GIFTED young footballer from Droitwich has tasted double glory playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers Ladies.

Lauren Whiteman, 17, has been part of the Wolves squad which secured the Midland Combination League title and earned promotion to the FA Northern Premier League.

Wolves Women will be playing against squads from the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester City, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers.

Wanderers also saw off Stoke City 2-0 in the League Cup final to ensure a memorable campaign.

The left-back has been a regular in the Wolves squad this season, making seven starts as well as many from the bench.

She has scored in both the League Cup as well as the Women’s FA Cup during the season.
