FOOTBALL: Fairfield Villa will resume action in the Midland Combination Division One when they entertain leaders Littleton on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
With a free weekend, Villa prepared for their big test with a friendly against second-placed Blackwood and put in a promising display in a 3-1 loss.
Villa were missing a host of first team players but strikers Ben Albut and Brian Carr signed after good debuts.
Ryan Sproston had fired them ahead but Blackwood levelled the scores before half-time and then scored twice before half-time.
Meanwhile, Division One rivals Droitwich Spa lost 3-0 to Feckenham.
