STOURPORT Swifts manager Neil Hunt is looking for his team to be one of the few not to be beaten by Atherstone Town this term.

The Walshes Meadow outfit entertain the high-flying Adders on Saturday (3pm) in British Gas Business Division One Midlands.

Swifts, who drew 1-1 at the Warwickshire side earlier in the campaign, are trying to overhaul rivals Bromsgrove Rovers, who are six points and two places above them.

But Hunt will be without strikers Scott Morris (groin) and Mark Owen (ribs) for the clash against a side who have only been beaten once in the league this term.

Player-coach Owen needed hospital treatment following a collision at Chesham last weekend but Hunt is hopeful the former Worcester City striker will be fit before the end of the campaign.

“Mark has been signed off work for this week and next and, depending on how quickly he heals, he could be back before the end of the season,” Hunt said.

“We are stretched at the moment, we only have 16 fit players so I want to try and keep everyone fresh and happy.

“I have got in defender Ben Pattison on loan from Cheltenham Town but he is only 18. I want to give Chris Cornes and Wes Joyce a rest.

“But Alex Lavery has had laser surgery on his eyes and Rich Colwall is waiting to have an operation on his knee.”
