WORCESTERSHIRE have tied up a new two-year sponsorship deal worth six figures.

The New Road side have been searching for a new main sponsor following the collapse of Apollo 2000 last month.

The commercial department at the County have been working hard to ensure they would not start the season without one and today they confirmed a new two-year contract had been struck.

However, the County are remaining tight-lipped over just who the new sponsor is and the company will be unveiled at the annual photocall day on Tuesday, April 14.

Commercial director David Leatherdale said: “Following the announcement about our search for a new sponsor, we received 14 expressions of interest which resulted in three confirmed offers worthy of consideration, all within a week.

“We have now signed a two-year contract worth six figures.”

Leatherdale added: “Given the general economic situation and the fact we had to conduct a fire sale, we were surprised and delighted about the level of response generally.

“The meetings we had with those companies making an offer were immediate and conducted in a very professional manner.

“Despite the urgency of the situation for us, it was very important we made sure we could fulfil the aspirations and needs of a new sponsor before signing any contract.”
