WORCESTER’S relegation from the BodyKraft Midlands Premier Division was compounded with a 9-2 defeat at Olton and West Warwick in their final game of the season.

Captain Jonathan Sprague scored twice but he was unable to stop his team finishing bottom of the table after 22 matches.

There was better news for the Thirds as they won promotion from the West Midlands Premier Division with a 3-1 victory at already-relegated Bridgnorth.

The Fourths also won promotion from the Central League West Midlands Premier Division after a 1-1 draw against Leek Fifths.

The Fifths, however, were relegated from the same division following narrow 5-4 defeat against Barford Tigers Fourths.

Andy Taylor was on target with all of Worcester’s goals.

The Sevenths played out a 4-4 draw with Bromsgrove Fourths to consolidate their mid-table position in South West Division Two.

Worcester Women were beaten 2-0 at Harborne in their final Midlands Premier League match of the campaign.

Worcester defended well against a fiery Harborne attack and the first-half ended goalless.

The visitors conceded an early second-half goal from open play and then gave away a series of penalty corners which Harborne were unable to convert.

Another chance went begging when Libby Hayes was denied by the hosts’ keeper.

A fine save from keeper Hannah Beasley-Suffolk gave Worcester some respite only for the hosts’ resulting penalty corner to find the net.

The Seconds won 3-2 at home to Bournville Seconds to ensure survival in Worcestershire League Division One.

Despite being 1-0 down at half-time, Worcester hit back to triumph in the second period.

Sherri Clifford scored from a short corner and Sade Gerald put them ahead.

Bournville equalised before Gerald scored her second and Worcester’s third five minutes from time.

There were also good performances from Becky Donnelly and keeper Jo Brett.

The Thirds’ game at Cresconians Seconds in Division Three was postponed due to vandalism at the hosts’ pitch.

The Fourths suffered a 4-1 defeat at Bournville.

Worcester Badgers Pippens fought back from 5-0 down to draw 5-5 against Bromsgrove.

Trailing 5-0 at the break, Christian Holden bagged a hat-trick alongside strikes from Chris Pedrick and Scott Smith.

Worcester Badgers Potters won 6-1 at home to Droitwich.

Alex Wagner scored a hat-trick for the hosts and he was joined on the scoresheet by Matthew Ramsay, Ben Cooke and Lasse Bachem.
