PERSHORE Women swept aside an under-strength Redditch Thirds 7-0 to secure promotion from Worcestershire League Division Three and take them within a point of the league championship.
Player-of-the-season Zoe Nicolson scored a hat-trick, while Emma Gardner (two), Nicki Sheppard and Penny Jenner completed the rout.
A point at Bromsgrove on Saturday will be enough to secure the title.
The men were relegated from BodyKraft West Midlands Division One after a 1-0 defeat against Old Silhillians. Pershore’s hopes were dealt a blow as they lost midfielder Jamie Hughes to a knee injury and Russell Scudamore with a suspected broken foot before half-time.
The visitors scored the decisive goal early in the second period.
