WORCESTERSHIRE duo Stephen Moore and Kabir Ali have called into the MCC XI to face county champions Durham in the traditional season opener.
The New Road pair, who are currently on a pre-season tour with the County in South Africa, will head to Lord’s to face the north-east county in a four-day match on April 9.
The MCC have named a strong side to face the county champions with former England captain Michael Vaughan, Ian Bell and Lions skipper Robert Key all down to play.
England's National Selector Geoff Miller said: “All the players in the MCC team will be hungry to prove a point to the selectors, so we are confident we will see four days of tough, hard-fought cricket.
“Every English cricketer wants to be involved with the national set-up this summer because the world’s eyes will be on England for both the Ashes Series and the ICC World Twenty20.
“It’s a great opportunity not just for players on the edge of the Test side to make a claim for a place.”
MCC: Key, Moore, Vaughan, Bell, Rashid, Woakes, Foster, Westley, Mahmood, Finn, Kabir.
