MANAGER John Hill is confident Halesowen Town will start to turn draws into wins as they look to extend their unbeaten run.

The Yeltz have not tasted defeat in the last five games but have only won one and drawn the other four.

They chalked up another stalemate last Saturday with a 2-2 draw at home to King's Lynn.

James Roberts pulled Town level after six minutes at the Grove before Lee Hughes then put them ahead from the penalty spot on the hour mark.

However, they couldn't hold on and had to again settle for a share of the spoils.

Hill said: "It was frustrating because when you're winning and to concede late on it always feels like a negative rather than a positive.

"That said, it was a good performance against a side in a false position. They won't be down where they are for long and the way we played gave us a lot more things to build on.

"We are now five unbeaten and we're pleased about that but we also know that picking up single points doesn't really move you up the table.

"We are very aware that within that run you need to also find some wins. That's what we need to look to do and I'm confident that will come.

"We're always looking to better the team but I think we have a much more settled side now and that has helped us. It does mean we can start to be more selective about the players we look to bring in.

"Sometimes the first month of the season is like an extension of pre-season almost because you have spent so much time looking at people and trying to get the right people that it still takes time for them to bed in."

Yeltz turn their attention to the FA Cup this Saturday with the visit of Northern Premier League outfit Gainsborough Trinity (3pm kick-off).

"We are well overdue a cup run but it is going to be a really tough game for us," added Hill.

"Before the draw for this round they were at the top of the league we came out of last season. We have had them watched twice and our scouting network and the other managers we have spoken to have all told us they are a very good side.

"It is a tough draw for us but we're at home and we are confident at the moment."

The only injury doubt for Saturday is long-term absentee Tom Warmer.
