BROMSGROVE Sporting boss Brenden Kelly believes there will be more new signings to come as his pre-season plans gather force.

Already Kelly has up to 30 players battling it out for places in the Rouslers line-up this season and Kelly confirmed: "Because we've got so many training with us, you find that they start to push each other and it becomes ultra- competitive

"Everyone is in the same boat and they all want to be part of the squad.

"I know that some of the players are talking to other managers but its up to them to stake a place in the side."

He added: "I'm still looking to add a bit more experience to the side. I've one or two players in mind and I'm hopeful of announcing something soon."

In the meantime Kelly is still waiting to get some clarity on Jason Cowley's situation with National League North side AFC Telford.

Kelly has been in conversation with Telford manager Gavin Cowan.

Kelly said: " I've not given up hope that we might see Jason this season. It's just a question of what Gavin wants to do. The most important thing from Jason's perspective is that he needs to be playing."

The Rouslers' boss has added the quartet of Nathan Hayward, Jack Cresswell, one-time Leamington player Tom Rankin and Burton Albion teenager Charlie Dowd to his squad.

He revealed: "I tried to sign Jack Cresswell from Alvechurch when I took over last season but their manager Ian Long insisted he was still part of his plans.

"Jack is one of the best at his position at this level of football.

"I must have watched Nathan Hayward five or six times last season when he was playing for Worcester City.

"It's a real scoop for us to get someone like Nathan and he's shown real desire that he wants to be here."

Sporting supporters get their first chance to see the squad in action this coming Saturday when they travel to Lichfield City for a noon kick off.
