AVONCROFT suffered a 71 run reverse against Five Ways Old Edwardians in Worcester County League Division Three.
Opening bat Zaffron Ahmed held Old Eds' batting together with a timely 88 and found support from Usman Mahmood who made 42.
But none of the remaining Old Eds batsman could reach double figures as they found themselves dismissed for 183 all out in the 46th over.
Paul Athey proved the pick of Avoncroft's bowling attack taking five for 27 from his 10 overs while Josh Cound backed him up with two for 39.
Avoncroft's batting fell well short in reply after being bowled out for 112.
Opener Dan Elliott made top score of 21 in an otherwise below par batting display with James East who captured five for 23 and Zaffron Ahmed with two for 21 causing most of the damage.
Avoncroft attempt to hit back this week when they entertain Rushwick.
