REDDITCH Borough really made an immediate impact against Inkberrow in their Evesham Hospital Cup clash by having Billy Garvey sent off after just 35 seconds!

Garvey was given his marching orders when he was alleged to have used his elbow against an opponent straight from the kick-off.

But despite being reduced to 10 men for the entire game, Borough still managed to book their place in the final with a 2-0 triumph thanks to goals from Craig Malins and Dave Phelan.

Borough now face the prospect of having to squeeze in 13 league games between now and the end of the season, which thankfully has been extended until May 12.

Currently floundering in second from bottom spot, Borough at least have the comfort of games in hand over all their rivals in Midland League Division Two.

Borough spokesman Julian Workman said: "All we're concentrating upon at the moment is making sure we stay in this division. I've got a squad of 18 players so we should be able to cope."

Borough entertain local rivals Feckenham this Thursday before hosting Droitwich Spa on Saturday.

Busy Borough then travel to Smithswood Firs on Tuesday.
