BROMSGROVE Sporting boss Brendan Kelly believes he has the necessary players in place to deal with results as the Rouslers enter a critical period of the campaign.

Sporting were due to face closest rivals Coleshill Town this week before heading to fellow title hopefuls Sporting Khalsa on Saturday.

Kelly described both games as 'massive' and said: "These are the type of games you want to be involved with and it's the reason why players work so hard in pre-season.

"Obviously we will be looking to win these games but avoiding defeat would be equally effective. We're top of the pile, they're chasing us."

Kelly moved to bolster his squad this week bringing in Redditch United wideman R'Mar Murray and midfield player Liam Armstrong from rivals Shawbury United.

The pacy Murray has previously featured for Tamworth, Cheltenham Town and Rushall Olympic while Armstrong has been on the books of both West Bromwich Albion and Shrewsbury Town.

Kelly has also completed a deal to use experienced Redditch United defender Marcel Simpson on duel registration.

Simpson has also appeared for a variety of clubs including Daventry, Stratford Town and Bedworth United.

Kelly also hinted there could be another new arrival ahead of the trip to Sporting Khalsa.

He added: "When I took the job on, I wanted to maintain a level continuity. Most of the players here are still the same and we train exactly as we've done before.

"We've taken seven out of nine points so far, admittedly I wanted all nine, but we're on a good run of form with an eight match unbeaten run.

"I admit we didn't play to the levels we can against Heanor Town last Saturday and a 2-2 draw was just about right.

"Credit to Heanor, because they came to have a real go, when most sides that come to the Victoria Ground and just try to get behind the ball.

"When you throw in the playing conditions, then it was never going to be easy".

Sporting are back at the Victoria Ground next Tuesday when they entertain Loughborough University and Kelly added: "The games will be coming thick and fast now. Eveyone that we've brought in will be used at some point as we look to keep it going right to the finish."

Kelly also praised the supporters who braved dreadful weather conditions to get behind the side.

He said: "They are amazing Despite the weather, we still had over 500 supporters and I can't thank them enough."
