ONLY nine games were completed in the Bromsgrove League on yet another soggy damp Sunday.

The highlight of the action was the Rose Bowl Cup Final between Lickey End Social and Chaddesley Pensioners, which played out on a gloomy Sunday night at a wet Bromsgrove Sporting FC.

LES took the lead early on before Chaddesley pinned the side back in the second half.

With the rain now lashing down, LES rallied and regained the lead on 72 minutes. LES seemed to have made the game safe with a third, before the Pensioners set up a tense final three minutes after a penalty conversion, but LES held on for the victory.

In the WA Harris Cup, Highgate Dynamos are through to the quarter-finals after a 9-0 away win at Sporting Grapevine.

The Centenary Cup Semi-Finals saw both winners Studley Lions and Winyates winning convincingly against their opponents.

Studley thrashed Bromsgrove Corinthians 10-1, while Winyates bounced back from a midweek defeat to Arrow Valley in the Bridgwater Cup, with a 6-0 win over Awkies Allstars.

Rubery United meanwhile have pipped Chaddesley Corbett to the post in the BRS Shield quarter-final qualification race after a 4-2 home win over Avenue, while Clifton Rovers lost 1-0 to Meadow Park in the Worcester Nursing Cup.

There were only three league games this weekend. In division two, Chaddesley Ravens took down Rubery Sunday Juniors 6-1, while Spa Athletic had a 5-3 away win at Hizza United.

The final game was in division four where Bromsgrove Academicals claimed a 6-2 away victory over Millfield Rovers.
