WORCESTER Warriors coach Sam Vesty is rumoured to be on the wanted list of new Northampton Saints’ director of rugby Chris Boyd.

According to The Rugby Paper, Saints are lining up a swoop for Vesty to become backs coach at Franklin's Gardens next season.

The report suggests a move would allow Alan Dickens to return to his role with Northampton’s academy.

As The Worcester News reported last week Vesty and breakdown coach Simon Cross are poised to leave the club at the end of the season.

Rory Duncan will replace Carl Hogg as Warriors head coach in the summer while it is believed Worcester will be keeping hold of forwards coach Mefin Davies and academy backs coach Gordon Ross.

Vesty was appointed Worcester’s transition coach in 2013 before being promoted to be backs coach two years later.

But the 36-year-old’s contract is due to run out at the end of the campaign and is expected to receive plenty of interest from clubs.

Saints have refused to comment on the speculation.
