DROITWICH Spa BG under 21s dropped a half-time lead in going down 6-2 at title-chasing Boldmere St Michaels.

The visitors' first-half tactics of sitting deep and playing on the break worked well with a 2-1 advantage at the break.

Boldmere were clearly frustrated having nearly all of the ball and were sure to come out in the second half more direct.

They did exactly that but also brought on some strike power from the bench who between them destroyed Spa's defence inside 20 minutes of the second period.

But there were lots of positives to take from the game for Droitwich who are ninth in the Total Motion Midland League West Division.

Leading at half-time against a top side was a massive improvement from last year and something to work on.

Callum Morris bagged a brace for Spa with Sam Jeeves (2), Ryan Brooks (2), Yasin Peart and Kyle Byrne on target for Boldmere.

Spa host Brocton in the league on Saturday (10.30am).
