MIKE Reuben was amongst the wickets against as Alvechurch and Hopwood hammered Himley thirds by nine wickets in Worcester County League Division Three.

Having snapped up six wickets the previous week against Rushwick, Reuben proved equally effective against Himley by mopping up the lower order to claim four for 11 from three overs.

Strike bowlers Christian Batterley with two for 28 and Dan Wolstencroft who claimed two for 23 had earlier caused plenty of damage as Himley were rolled out for 91 in 26 overs despite a defiant 46 from Joe Dunn.

Skipper Adam Markham-Jones was the only Alvechurch wicket to fall in reply after reaching 23.

It was left to Liam Hall on 35 not out and Curtis Beach on 22 not out to guide Alvechurch home to to a winning 94 for one in the 18th over.
