THE King George V Sports Association held an open weekend to showcase different sports involving Droitwich teams.

A sun-drenched event saw around 300 people visit to see the range of sports offered in the town while relaxing in the pool and enjoying food and entertainment.

Droitwich Spa under sixes and sevens, Nunnery Wood Colts and Perdiswell Colts staged two football contests.

People could try their hand at netball and boxing.

There was a grudge match between the town's hockey and football clubs with each sport split into halves.

The footballers won 2-1 after drawing the hockey encounter 1-1.

A hockey tournament involved teams from Swansea, Worcester and Stafford.

Each team played three games in hot conditions and Worcester won on the day.

Droitwich men's veterans beat Droitwich Spa Belles 5-2 in a game of walking football.

There were also events put on at Droitwich Leisure Centre including fitness classes, free use of the lido, charity circuit training and a racketlon day.
