DROITWICH women's B team moved into second in Herefordshire and Worcestershire Summer Tennis League Division Three with a 5-1 victory over Evesham.
Kate Hughes and Margaret Hughes won 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-0 while Linda Price and Lydia Walker-Cox triumphed 6-3, 6-2 twice. Sue Webber and Heather Fellows won 6-3, 6-2 before losing 6-3, 6-4.
The relegation-battling A team lost 6-0 at Stourbridge A in Division One.
Lisa Pettener-Jones and Marelize Yorke and Penny Maidment and Heidi Harris fell in straight sets. Caroline Brookes and Clare Cussen lost 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-2.
The C team fell to third in Division Six East after a 4-2 defeat at home to Fladbury.
Ishbel Crossley and Christina Sellers won 6-4, 6-2 and lost 6-1, 6-1. Liz French and Julie Rhodes triumphed 6-4, 7-5 and fell 6-3, 6-3.
Aileen Baker and Marilyn Sherring went down 6-1, 6-3 and 3-6, 6-2, 7-6.
The E team beat Bromsgrove E 4-2 to boost their Division Seven East relegation battle.
Joy Baker, Helen Whiteside, Sue Brice and Janine Billinge all won.
Droitwich men’s A team moved into fifth in Division One after a 5-1 win at home to Stourbridge B.
Joe Maidment and Matt Baker triumphed 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-4 while Lee Cowan and Mark Jones cruised home 6-0, 6-0 and 6-4, 6-0. Neil Bates and Eric Cartelet won 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 and lost 4-6, 6-1, 6-0.
The D team still have a shout of promotion in Division Eight East as they won 4-2 at Bromsgrove E.
James Stanford and Ricky Hollander won 6-4, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-2 while Dave Wicks and John Wright triumphed 6-3, 6-4 and 6-0, 4-6, 6-3. Ian Ross and Chris Passey went down 6-4, 6-2 and 4-6, 6-4, 7-6.
The E team fell to fifth in Division Nine East with a 6-0 defeat against Bromsgrove F.
Mark Venables and Nigel Hughes lost in straight sets while Jonathan Carter and Dan Ballard fell 6-3, 7-5 and 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. Sam Reavey and Phil Woodhouse lost 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4, 3-6, 6-0.
Droitwich mixed F team remain second in Division Six East following a 4-0 victory at Bewdley A.
Alison Whiteman and Carter won 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 and 6-0, 7-6. Roger Whiteman and Alexa Dean triumphed 6-4, 6-2 and 6-0, 5-7, 7-6.
