BROMSGROVE will be brimming with confidence when they commence their Birmingham League Division One campaign on Saturday by playing hosts to Moseley-based side Attock at St Godwalds Park (noon).

It follows a pleasing victory over local rivals Barnt Green in their final friendly fixture.

New recruit Dion Patel proved in prolific form with bat by plundering 86 against the Green while Mike Wyres picked up three wickets in the space of an over, which effectively turned the game Bromsgrove's way.

Bromsgrove will be boosted on Saturday by the inclusion of Worcestershire's Alexie Kervezee while Jack Taylor has arrived from Worcester side Old Elizabethans.

James Ganderton has also rejoined the ranks after work commitments restricted him to Worcester County League cricket last term But Bromsgrove will be missing strike bowler Gareth Williams who is unavailable owing to a cricket tour.
