FAIRFIELD Villa were handed a huge boost this week when top marksman Connor Collins turned down an offer to join Midland League Division One side Pershore Town.
Former Halesowen Town striker Collins, who is currently the second highest goalscorer in Division Two, has also committed himself to Villa for the remainder of the season.
Villa spokesman Paul Oakes said: "It's a big bonus. Connor has already scored 18 goals this season and is a player who is always going to attract interest."
Manager Wayne Davis has also added to his strike force by bringing in new signing Adam Ricketts.
Villa were left kicking their heels this week when their proposed match at Solihull side Smithswood Firs was called off.
The postponement didn't arrive in time to prevent Villa from travelling and Oakes added: "I felt sorry for players like Ellis Blakemore who travels from Wolverhampton, while Ollie Booth catches a train from Worcester."
Third placed Villa visit fourth in table Sutton United this Saturday.
