A NEW judo club is opening up in Droitwich Spa next week.

Kazoku-Kan will be launched on Friday, January 6, at Physique Fitness, Unit 2, West Bank, Berry Hill Industrial Estate.

They will be meeting for training on Friday evenings from 6.30pm until 8pm.

The club will be run by second dan black belt Rob Alloway who holds a club coach qualification.

He is a five-time British masters medallist and multiple Amateur Judo Association national champion and also volunteered at the Commonwealth Games.

Alongside Alloway will be Rich Morrish, a first kyu brown belt who has been a qualified instructor since 2000, helping many students through successful gradings.

He has coached martial artists who have gained medals at special needs events as well as national and Midland competitions.

Between them, Alloway and Morrish boast 30 years of teaching experience.

Morrish, of Droitwich, said: “Our goal is to bring quality teaching and advance students through their grades at a pace that suits them.

“We aim to teach honest, traditional and advanced judo in a fun and safe environment.

“All staff are DBS checked and we also have first aid trained staff on hand each week. We take students from ages five upwards and any experience level from novice to experienced judoka.

“The first session is free so come on down and have a try and a chat with us about what you want to get out of your judo experience.”
