HIGH flying Fairfield Villa produced a fabulous final half hour show to lash Leamington Hibs 6-3 following a sensational Midland League Division Two contest.

Villa appeared to be suffering from a hangover following their five goal defeat to Knowle last week and struggled to get going in the first half.

Hibs held a slender 1-0 lead at half time and then increased their advantage shortly after the break, both goals coming from corners.

Villa finally found their shooting boots and levelled matters thanks to goals from Jack Connolly and Dan Price, before going 3-2 down.

It took a spectacular solo goal from substitute Lewis Smith to lift Villa, who then took charge.

Connor Collins headed home from a corner and then converted from the penalty spot after Jack Connolly had been brought down.

Impressive Pete Jenvey then made it six of the best to crown a captivating final half hour for Villa who have now risen to third in the table.

Villa have a local derby at Feckenham this Saturday when they hope to parade new signing Jordan Hartley from Redditch Borough.

Spokesman Paul Oakes said: "We need to make some more signings as work commitments start kicking in at this time of year. We're always on the lookout for players, but we need to shore up our defence at the moment."

Sam Wilkes has been ruled out until after Christmas with a hamstring problem while Ben Smith and Alex Dugmore miss the trip to Feckenham through injury, Ellis Blakemore and Joe Brookes are set to return.
