IAN Long insists he still wants two more players to boost his Alvechurch squad this season.

Church boss Long claimed: “We’ve identified the areas we want to improve and the players we want - but there’s nothing in the pipe-line at the moment.”

Having put seven goals past Bromyard Town last Thursday the Church then produced a poor showing against Cradley Town.

The match took place on a 3G pitch at Thorns School near Merry Hill but in truth didn’t live up to much.

Long added: “Although we were nowhere near full strength, it was still a disappointing display when we lacked any cutting edge.

“We’ve been training the players really hard and it felt as those the lads had fatique in their legs.”

Former Cradley and Causeway striker Aaron Lloyd netted a hat-trick against Bromyard while another new recruit Andy Nichol netted two more.

The Church were due to have midweek friendlies with Lichfield City and Tipton Town before they head off to Blackpool on Saturday where they take on Step 5 side Squires Gate.
