BETH Lloyd shone at the Hereford & Worcester Schools County Track & Field Championships, which were held at Nunnery Wood sports complex.

The youngster from Alvechurch represented Bromsgrove School and won the junior girls 100 metres in 13.3 seconds.

She bagged a second gold when she won the shot putt with a throw on 0.98 metres.

The event saw top athletes from schools all across the region, who had qualified to take part for one of eight districts competing.

As well as medals and the opportunity to claim the title of County Champion in their event, athletes were also hoping to impress the selectors to take them forward to the Mason Trophy Competition.

Despite the rain showers there were some excellent results.

Olivia Corcoran, also of Bromsgrove School, won 75m Junior Girl Hurdles (12.6s), Javelin (29.29m) as was 2nd in Long Jump (4.81m).

Tayla Mullins (RSA Academy Arrowvale, Redditch) beat her own junior girls record from last year in the Hammer taking it from 19.23m to an incredible 32 95m.

The Wyre Forest District Junior Girls team set a new 4x100m relay record of 54.3s In the junior boys competition, Darian Moore from Royal Grammar, Worcester won the 100m (11.9s) as well as the 200m (24.7s).

Tristen Dunn from Haybridge High School won three events - shot (11. 81m), discus (33.11m) and hammer (34.95m).

Sam Jones of Catshill Middle was runner-up in both 100m & 200m finishing in times of 12.2s and 24.9s respectively.

Wyre Forest District set a second relay record of the day this time for the Junior Boys who completed the four stages in 53.4s.

Olivia Jones from Heathfield School, Wolverley, had a great competition winning the high jump in 1.60m, the 80m hurdles (13.1s) and placing second in the long jump (4.51m).

Candy Lockett of Bromsgrove School clinched the senior girls hammer with new championship record of 41.85m and also won the discus (27.88m) and placed secnd in both the shot and javelin.
