PAUL Smith says there will be no let up for Bromsgrove Sporting’s title chase in Midlands Division One as the Rouslers enter the crucial final laps.

Smith’s side are now second in the table after the weekend’s clash at Racing Club Warwick was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Title favourites Coventry United took pole position with wins over Coventry Copsewood, Littleton and Stafford Town.

Sporting trail by a point and have played one game more as the season enters the closing stages of an enthralling campaign — and have a game in hand.

Bromsgrove, who were set to play Northfield Town at home in the semi-finals of the Smedley Crooke Charity Cup last night, return to league action at Racing Club on Thursday (7.45pm).

They then end their home campaign in the league against Heath Hayes (3pm ko), before going to Southam United next Tuesday (7.45pm ko).

Smith said: “We have to keep winning the games to maintain the pressure on Coventry.

“I went to see them beat Littleton and they are winning by hook or by crook.

“We’ve got a very important game against Racing Club on Thursday and then it’s our final home game of the season against Heath Hayes.

“The fans have been fantastic this season and hopefully we can end that campaign with a good result.”

Sporting missed a chance to win silverware last Wednesday, when they lost to Premier Division title-chasers Alvechurch 3-0 at Evesham United.

Meanwhile, Bromsgrove Sporting Supporters’ Society are running a promotion for Saturday’s final home game of the season, where 150 children who attend the game — accompanied by a paying adult — will receive a free Panini Euro 2016 official sticker collection album and a free packet of stickers.

The albums and stickers will be available from the Bromsgrove Sporting Supporters’ Society stand inside the ground.

Meanwhile, tickets for the club’s end-of-season presentation evening, which will be held on Friday, May 6 (7.30pm kick-off) are now available.
