ALVECHURCH'S title hopes in the Midlands Premier suffered a big setback as main rivals Hereford won 2-1 at Lye Meadow.
The Bulls leapt above Church, who have played one game more than tonight's victors, to take a one point lead at the top.
Goals in each half for Rob Purdie and Pablo Haysham had fired Hereford into a 2-0 lead.
Substitute Danny Ashton pulled a goal back to set up a tense finish to the clash.
But the game had to be stopped after Jordan Nadat saw his penalty saved afger fans invaded the pitch and barriers were damaged.
Once order were restored, Alvechurch could not find a leveller, despite heavy pressure.
