BROMSGROVE Ladies got back to league action after an extended winter break caused by the recent frozen spell and got the better of Harborne fourths.

It only took eight minutes to warm up before Tricky Burton set up Jo Eddy on the far post, who calmly forced the ball home.

Three minutes later, Bromsgrove extended their lead when Burton herself scored following a mazy dribble.

Harborne were on their heels and a third followed soon after as Burton again scored, tidying up from a penalty corner routine.

It soon became four as Stacey Nash was first to react to drive the ball home.

The fifth came as half-time approached, this one a fierce shot from a penalty corner from captain Heather Nunnerley.

As the half ended, Bromsgrove added a sixth, another fine strike from Vic Longmore.

The second half was a quieter affair with Burton completing her hat-trick and Eddy adding her second to round off a fine 8-0 win.

Coach Alan Gormley said: “It was a very good display from everyone in the squad. We looked very sharp in the first half and capitalised on every chance Harborne gave us.

“Unfortunately, after half-time we relaxed a little and missed as many as we scored in the first half.

“We cannot afford to do that in forthcoming games as the opposition we play will be much stronger.”
