BROMSGROVE Tennis Club’s Ladies A team consolidated their top spot in Division One with a 3-1 win over Pershore A Team.

This was an impressive result achieved without their strongest players, who were unavailable.

With their nearest title contenders Stourbridge being held to a draw in their last match this win opened up a healthy gap at the top of the table.

Also in impressive form were the Ladies D team.

Another 4-0 victory, this time against Wombourne, means after promotion last year they are now well clear at the top of Division Seven.

Claire Hancock with Jane Cadman took the one rubber victory, while Di Horton with Avril Pugh fought hard but were just edged out.

The Men’s G team were at home in a Division 12 match against Cutnall Green D.

Captain Martin German with junior Dan Andrews won both their matches while, Mark Wilson with Rob Kindon fought hard but went down in both encounters to leave the match score 2-2.

In Division Six the Men’s C team travelled to play Wollaston A but early injury to Alastair Liddle meant he and partner John Dudek had to forfeit both contests.

The other pair of Voitek Niedzwiedz and Trevor Errington lost 6-2, 6-3.
