PAUL Oakes hailed Fairfield Villa's new additions as they bounced back from a three-game winless run to defeating Coton Green 4-1 in Midlands Division Two.
Villa brought in Stuart Hall from Pershore and drafted in Hampton pair Gareth Parfitt and Steve Joynes, as well as handing a debut to keeper Andy Morgan and the shake-up did the trick.
Hall, Chris Lowe, James Ward and Ellis Blakemore hit the target.
Oakes said: "We had a chat last week and decided we needed to do something to improve our situation.
"The new guys fitted in well and made a big difference.
"Everyone knows Stuart and I have a history, he's been at the club several times.
"But he wasn't enjoying his football at Pershore and Lee Shaw and I respect his ability.
"Stuart held up the ball brilliantly and gave us a platform to build on because he holds the ball up so well."
Villa's new-look side face a test of their capabilities on Saturday in the league when they go to Austrey Rangers (2pm ko) a side who defeated them 4-1 in August.
"It will be interesting to see how we compare to Austrey this time," said Oakes.
