IT was a winning weekend at Barnt Green Tennis Club as the Mixed B and Men’s C teams both emerged 4-0 winners in differing circumstances.

The Mixed team travelled to Droitwich with a strong looking line-up who made short work of the opposition by not dropping a set.

Big-hitting behemoth Chris Linsell teamed up with regular Pat Langston to win both matches in double-quick time.

The bustling energy of Hammad Ahmad and metronomic consistency of Victoria Clipsham were comfortable enough to see off the dispirited Droitwich team.

Meanwhile, down in the depths of Division 11, the newly-formed Men’s C team look on course to continue their push through the divisions with another victory at Droitwich, against their F team.

First pair of Tim Clipsham and Tom Brand comfortably won their first match 6-2, 6-1 while the second pair of young Will Scarle and the heroic Dave Taylor, bravely fighting an unpleasant (for all concerned) illness, lost the first set 6-4 when one of the opposition had to retire due to a twisted ankle, handing the two rubbers to Barnt Green.

They then perked up in the second match, winning 6-2, 6-0 to ensure that Barnt Green C continue their unbeaten start to the season.
