ALEXEI Kervezee bagged a century as Bromsgrove CC saw off Attock by 228 runs to record their first win in Birmingham League Division One by in two months.

The Boars eased their relegation worries with their best display since the start of June.

Attock had won the toss and put in the hosts to bat first but were left to rue that decision as they powered to 307-9 in 55 overs.

At one stage, Bromsgrove were 86-4 but Kervezee made 144 off 116 balls, while Tom Hill and Tom Green scored 23 runs each.

It took just 24 overs for the hosts to dismiss Attock's batting order in reply.

Alex Wilkinson took the first four wickets as the away side slumped to 21-4, before Graeme Whiles (2-30) and Kervzee (3-11) dismissed the middle and lower order.

Sultan Mahmood also retired hurt for Attock, who were dismissed for 81.

Captain Mark Evenson said: "Alexei has been threatening to score a century for us all season, so it's great that he did it.

"It was an important knock because we were 86-4 but in the end it was a comfortable win.

"We've been on a poor run but the last six games go back to the win or lose format which we much prefer.

"Hopefully we can build on this result and go on a really good run."

Bromsgrove go to second from bottom Harborne in Birmingham on Saturday (noon start), with James Ganderton and Ryan Pedley available for duty.
