Coventry Dragons A 48, NEW Ravens 16

NORTH East Worcestershire Ravens were forced to go on the road again after hastily arranging a game against Coventry.

The club had been forced to search for new opponents after Leicester Storm had pulled out of Saturday’s home clash in the Midlands Rugby League Premier.

It meant that Ravens faced a ninth away game of the season – they have not played at home since Derby in June.

Coventry Dragons scored the first two tries, despite Ravens looking good and creating opportunities early on.

But the away team hit back when Charlie Robinson rampaged from over 20 metres out to score a try by the side of the posts, which was converted by Dave Wimbury.

An injury to Jamie Thomas saw the Ravens a bit light, which Dragons took advantage of to score three further tries before Richard Whitehouse got a deserved try just before half-time.

Wimbury added the extras as Ravens went into the break trailing 28-12.

The hosts started off the stronger of the two teams in the second half, scoring three tries and putting the game to bed.

Ravens had the last word with Dave Pearson scoring a try with 15 minutes to go and the conversion was just wide of the posts.
