CHADDESLEY Corbett moved up to second place in Worcestershire League Division Three with an eight-wicket win over Old Vigornians.

After winning the toss and electing to field, Corbett dismissed Vigs for 75 in 21 overs.

Chris Mole and Muhammad Saddiq took four wickets each, with Christopher Walder taking one.

Opening batsman Tahseel Ahmadzai then scored 58 runs as Corbett cruised to 78-2 in eight overs.

Chaddesley are at home to Netherton on Saturday (1pm start).

Avoncroft were also in good form and saw off Cleobury Mortimer by 53 runs.

Croft were put into bat but they made 246-8 in their 50 overs.

David James lead the way with the bat with 71 runs, while, with Daniel Elliott (39), Paul Athey (29) and Will Sach (26) all contributing James Manley was Mortimer’s top bowler with five wickets.

Mortimer were then restricted to 193 all out, with John Raxster (3-34) impressing, Athey (2-45), James (2-37) and Craig Hughes (2-30) all sharing the wickets.

Avoncroft go to Claverley on Saturday (1pm start).

Barnt Green thirds easily lost to Astwood Bank thirdsby 167 runs.

Adam Hines bagged seven wickets as Bank made 243 all out but Green were bowled out for 76.
