DROITWICH Dolphins continued their winning ways with a victory in the second round of the Nuneaton Junior League at Stechford.

The team swam superbly well, despite being unable to field teams in all the nine-and-under relay events.

Double first places went to Sophie Pitts in the 10 years breaststroke and backstroke, Felicity Quiney in 11 years backstroke and butterfly, Joshua Royle in nine years freestyle and butterfly and George Grech in the 12 years backstroke and breaststroke.

Individual wins also went to Lily Smith (10 year freestyle), Rowan Dennett (10 year breaststroke), Anja Kristy (12 years breaststroke), Will Armstrong (12 years freestyle) and Declan Woodbury in the nine year backstroke.

The 10 year girls of Pitts, Smith, Martha Stead and Megan Evans were in excellent form, winning both their relays and only dropping a single point in the whole gala.

The 12 year boys of Grech, Armstrong, Alex Munro and Guy Duffy won their freestyle relay and only dropped two points overall. The 12 year girls of Ashleigh Turner, Anja Kristy, Elize Smith and Milly Routledge also took both the freestyle and medley relay wins.

Other relay victories came for the 10 year boys of Harry Grech, Dennett, Will Hughes and Ben Chadwick and both the mixed age canons.

The girls were Sophie Peart, Bethan Stokes, Pitts, L Smith, Quiney, May Davison, Turner and Routledge and the boys were Royle, Luke Barrington, Dennett, Chadwick, Harvey Bastock, Matthew Daniels, Duffy and Munro. The team now aims to make it three wins in a row in the final round at the end of June and to gain promotion to Division Two in September’s final.
