JAYDEN Levitt and Ash Newfield were in good form as Bromsgrove CC got the better of Himley in the Birmingham League Division One.
Levitt (81) and Newfield (80) chased down 186 in just 20 overs after Himley’s innings closed on 138-2 due to the weather.
The Boars were given a Duckworth Lewis revised target for the first time this summer and securing victory in such short time was a spectacular result.
They entertain Barnards Green at home on Saturday (noon start).
Meanwhile, the club will start a new programme designed to attract former players back to cricket, called Dusty Flannels, on Monday.
Each sessions will run for an hour from 6.30pm and cost just £3 each, with protective equipment provided if required.
Chairman Nick Husbands said: “We have been looking to make cricket more inclusive, it takes up a lot of time and we all have less of it these days so Dusty Flannels will allow players to turn up enjoy a bat and bowl.”
