Pershore Town 0, Bromsgrove Sporting 3

BROMSGROVE Sporting bagged three second half goals to stop in-form Pershore in their tracks and keep their title dreams alive.

What started as an even affair between two of the leagues form sides ended with a very-one sided result on a sunny Easter Monday.

With the Rouslers aiming to keep the pressure on Midlands Premier leaders Highgate, the first half was a cagey affair against a side who had won seven games in a row.

Ex-Sporting striker Danny Lennon had a great chance on the half hour for Pershore but was denied by a reaction save from Sporting keeper Jake Bedford.

Sean Brain and Will Tibbetts saw chances saved easily by Pershore shot-stopper Andrew Yarnold and the sides went into the dressing rooms at half-time at 0-0.

But Bromsgrove took the lead through a stroke of luck when Steve Webb's back pass was missed by his keeper and rolled into the back of the net.

By the hour mark it was 2-0 when Brain laid the ball off to Will Tibbetts on the right wing who glided effortlessly past a Pershore defender before squaring to Aaron Williams who calmly slotted home from eight yards.

Sporting were now dominating proceedings and ten minutes later Tibbetts punished Pershore's failure to clear his corner with a fine cross which allowed Lewis Clarke to head powerfully unchallenged past a helpless Yarnold.

The rest of the match was a formality with Sporting largely keeping control.

As Pershore stretched to get back in the game further chances fell to Brain and substitutes Chris Conway and Josef Jakab, but the scoreline remained the same and at the final whistle a healthy travelling contingent of Sporting fans cheered a comfortable victory.

Sporting: Bedford; Duggan; Wilson; Williams; Delaney; Smith; Tibbetts; Clarke; Brain (Conway); McKenzie (Jakab); Hewitt (Ludlow).

Subs not used: Dempster; Wills.
