BROMSGROVE Men Firsts enhanced their survival hopes in the West Midlands Division One with a 4-2 win over Streetly.

The Boars bounced back from conceding an early goal to take a 3-1 lead, thanks to goals for Karl Troth, Andy Langlands and Mark Robinson.

“This was a very good performance from the whole team,” said coach Alan Gormley.

“Most of the girls have only played twice since November due to the bad weather so they had to rely on teamwork and work rate to see them through.

“This they did really well and, with a bit more luck in front of goal, could have won more comfortably.”

They utilised the wingers and in almost identical moves centre half Andy Rollason weaved and sent an inch perfect ball for Dan Welch to tot-up two consecutive goals and give a comfortable 3-0 lead at half-time.

After the break, Droitwich saw Tommy Ross score twice to seal a fine win.

With two minutes to go, Pete Best was sin-binned for arguing with the umpires, and Spa had to defend one man down, but still came away with a 3-2 win
