MIKE Tomkinson bagged a leveller as Bromsgrove Men’s firsts came from behind to draw 1-1 with Ludlow in the West Midlands Premier.

Bromsgrove had been trailing to a second half strike but a strong run from Tom Green and good work by Mark Robinson allowed Tomkinson to finish with five minutes remaining.

On Sunday, the firsts were held 2-2 by Sikh Union.

Andrew Langlands’ brace secured Bromsgrove a 2-0 lead but they their opponents hit back through two penalty corners.

The Ladies first got the better of Stourport thirds 6-1 in Worcestershire Division One.

Vic Longmore broke the deadlock with two goals as Bromsgrove found their cutting edge.

Good work by Jo Eddy allowed Longmore to complete her hat-trick.

Ali Powell and captain Naomi Cartwright bagged the fourth and fifth goals, before Powell finished off the scoring.

Bromsgrove Ladies seconds battlled out a 2-1 win over Droiwich firsts draw on Saturday.

Chrissie Smith’s reverse stick shot fired Bromsgrove into the lead.

Smith added a second after good work by Vicky Powell and Erica Reeves.

But Droitwich came back fighting though and good spells of possession and accurate passing saw central midfielder Harriet Grant pull one back for the visitors.

Spa had numerous chances to draw the match level with great individual work from midfielders Sophie Blackmore, Lucy Hine and Mollie Cresswell but Bromsgrove soaked up the pressure and held on for the victory.

Bromsgrove Men’s thirds got the better of West Bromwich 3-0 with strikes for Tom Fyles, Doug Owen and Matt Allen.

There were goals galore as Bromsgrove Men’s fourth team drew 4-4, with Charlie Wright (2), Simon Gompertz and Dave Grumball on target.

Meanwhile, Droitwich Men seconds went down 5-3 to Ludlow in only their second league defeat.

After a slow start, they found themselves 2-0 down in the first half.

Ludlow bagged a third but Luke Wickes pulled an effort back just before half-time. Pete Best then scored from the spot but Spa rivals roared into a 4-2 lead. Robin Lee scored a third but once against, their rivas replied.

The thirds went down 3-1 at home to Stafford, with Alexei Payne scoring.

Droitwich Ladies seconds in their first league game since November, a local derby against a Worcester side topping the league, lost 2-0.
