WORCESTERSHIRE trainer Tom Weston enjoyed double success at last week’s Harkaway Point-to-Point in Chaddesley Corbett.

Horses Sir Ollar and Mr Jalfrazy enjoyed wins in the Non-Rules Maiden – Division One and Club Members Maiden races respectively.

That ensured strong end to the day, which had seen Soixtante Six’s departure at the third fence in the Restricted.

Things improved when Weston teamed up with Angela Rucker stted Triptico, which finished third in the Men’s Open.

Tom Weston also enjoyed success at the Cottenham Point-to-Point, where Cold Knight was a convincing winner in the Restricted.

Sterling efforts by the ground staff had ensured the fixture went ahead as planned after a frosty few days previously.

Despite the wintry looking conditions the decision to proceed was fully justified with 75 runners facing the starter.

Punters went home happy with numerous favourites winning their obliging, including Khyber Kim in the Members Conditions.

The winner was placed in the 2010 Champion Hurdle but was making his debut for Phil Rowley. The favourite led between the final two fences with Alex Edwards needing all his strength to keep the leader in front.

This same combination scored their second success when Temple Grandin ground out a one length success in the Men’s Open.
