THE ladies from Bromsgrove Tennis Club continued their fine start to the season.

This weekend all three teams in action were victorious to maintain their unbeaten run.

The biggest win was the Division One match for the A team against Leominster A.

The quartet of Tina Manning with Sally Franks and Jen Law with Rachael Mack ran out easy 4-0 winners without dropping a set to maintain their challenge for the title.

The C side of Joan McGregor with Millie Doherty and Ann Banner with Steph Armstrong also won 4-0 in a Division Five clash with Woolaston B.

They were pushed a little harder with McGregor and Doherty fighting back to win a three set tussle in their opening contest after dropping the first set.

The pressure was on the G team to maintain the run and in a tense Division 11 battle ran out 3-1 winners against Halesowen.

Sue Corfield and Naomi Moore showed real grit to win their opening encounter in three sets after dropping the first set 6-0.

Their second victory was more straightforward. Avril Pugh and Chris Mitchell won their first contest but then went down in the second.

Ladies captain Sally Franks said: “To reach this stage of the season without a team being beaten is the best start anyone can remember. The pressure of not being the first team to lose is producing some tough fighting performances at all levels which is a real credit to all players.”

The Men’s C team went down 3-1 to their opposite numbers from Droitwich.
