DROITWICH Tennis Club was voted the best club in the whole of the two counties at last week’s annual Hereford and Worcester LTA dinner and awards evening.

The club has gone from strength to strength over the last couple of years, with membership now at its highest level since 2006, a lively social scene, 16 teams competing in the local leagues and a fantastic junior section with over 130 kids from ages four to 18 years old.

The award, which was presented by Hereford and Worcester LTA President Ian King, recognised how the club had invested in new courts for the benefit of all members and used modern social media techniques to keep everyone informed at the club and how it fostered links with local schools to encourage tennis in the Droitwich area.

Neil Bates, chairman of Droitwich Tennis Club, said “It has been a fantastic year at the club and this award means a lot to all of those individuals who have worked hard to help make it a really enjoyable and friendly place to play tennis.”
