DROITWICH suffered a five-wicket defeat at Harvington in Worcestershire League Division One last Saturday.

After last week’s victory at Evesham, Spa were brought crashing down to earth at Harvington, where they were making their homeward journey by mid-afternoon after a crushing defeat.

Droitwich were dismissed for a paltry 59 in less than 20 overs due to some accurate bowling and an array of batsmen playing poor shots.

In reply, the home side did stutter but eventually got home for the loss of five wickets in 17 overs.

With two games remaining, Spa know one victory will keep them safe from relegation with Pedmore visiting St Peter’s Fields on Saturday followed by the final fixture away at relegation-threatened Redditch (both 12.30pm starts).

Spa’s Seconds face the same clubs in their final games and will need to win both and hope other results go their way if they are to avoid relegation.

They are now 36 points adrift of safety after losing to Cookley last weekend.

A brave six-wicket defeat against champions Canon Frome saw the Thirds slip into Division Seven.
