MEMBERS of Bromsgrove Sporting Supporters’ Society paid their last respects to a former Bromsgrove Rovers legend this week.

Supporters joined the family and friends of winger Eli Hough, who has died aged 90, at Worcester Crematorium on Tuesday.

The Worcester-born wideman was a prolific goalscorer for Rovers and was the highest scoring winger in the Birmingham Combination between 1945 and 1949.

Joining Bromsgrove in 1945, he bagged 65 goals over four seasons, helping the club to a Birmingham Combination Championship and the Worcester Senior Cup twice.

He also reached the FA Cup first round with Bromsgrove.

Hough had played three games on trial for Chelsea before being snapped-up by then Bromsgrove boss Francis Harris.
