STUDENTS from St Andrews First School in Barnt Green won an inter-school squash tournament by seeing off the challenge of Alvechurch Middle School and Rubery’s Beaconside.

All three were recently introduced to mini squash by coaches at Barnt Green Sports Club.

Mixed teams of six children took part and played against each other, all competing for a shield and medals.

The matches were very close, but St Andrews School won through.

All the matches were played in excellent spirit with those supporting cheering their school on.

Organisers are hoping to make the tournament an annual event.

Barnt Green Sport Club also holds training sessions for all standard of player, from introductory right through to national level.
