BARNT Green completed their preparations for the Birmingham and District League Premier Division with a seven-wicket loss to Kidderminster Victoria in the Graham Williamson Trophy.
Green skipper Andy Sutton won the toss and opted to bat first but they were dismissed for 127 in 26 overs.
Ed Pollock (8), Nathan Newport (11) and Tom Burton (0) all fell victim to Richard Kimberlin. Sam Cheshire (25) and Tom Banton (0) also fell victim to Matt Pardoe as Green found themselves 89-5.
Matt Powell and skipper Andy Sutton had taken the score up to 121 when the former was out to a splendid caught and bowled by Jon Wright for14.
Two runs later, Sutton was bowled by Connor Smith for 41.
Green’s opponents made a strong start in reply, with openers Pardoe and Craig Wood forming a 59 partnership before the latter was dismissed lbw by Sutton.
But an unbeaten partnership between Pardoe (45) and Zac Turley (34) steered Kidderminster to 128-3.
Green open their league programme at home to Knowle and Dorridge this Saturday (noon start).
