Nuneaton Old Edwardians 28, Droitwich Spa 36
DROITWICH continued their bid for survival in the Midlands Division Two West (South) with an impressive win over mid-table Nuneaton.
Victory lifted Spa out of the bottom two. With two matches of the season left, they have a slender two point lead over relegation rivals Dunlop.
They extended their unbeaten run to four games and chalked up their first away victory of the season.
Bobby Scott-Walker opened the scoring with a penalty before his diagonal kick was seized on by the alert Dan Wilkinson to score.
The home side hit back with a sustained period of pressure resulting in two clinical tries.
A neat offload by livewire hooker Rob Poke saw prop forward James Thomas power over.
A long pass by Sam Davenport saw Greg MacLeod find space to pass inside to Dave Ingram to score.
As the game wore on the home side pressed strongly but excellent tackling by Tom Richardson and Russ Brown kept them at bay, before Poke sprinted over to add the final score.
Spa end the season with games against Old Coventrians at home on Saturday, April 5 and at Old Leamingtonians a week later.
