DROITWICH gave their relegation battle a huge boost after defeating title-chasing Earlsdon 20-14 in Midlands Division Two West (South) on Saturday.
The win means Spa remain second from bottom in the league, but they are only a handful of points away from safety with three games left to play.
Against Earlsdon, Greg MacLeod bagged two tries and Bobby Scott-Walker kicked a penalty, but Spa went into the break trailing 14-13 after the away side grabbed two converted efforts.
But Droitwich produced their best display of the season after the break, with Russ Brown touching down and Ben Rean and Jack Davenport defending defiantly.
Spa travel to mid-table Nuneaton Old Edwardians on Saturday (3pm).
