BROMSGROVE Men’s F team bagged their first win of the season after seeing off Bewdley 3-1 in the Winter League Division 10.

Rising stars Ollie Stratford and Aaron Oakes produced a dominant performance winning 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2.

Captain Paul Jubb and Stuart Roney won a close contest against their opposite second pair 7-5, 6-4 to seal the victory before losing 1-6,1-6 to Bewdley’s firsts.

The Ladies F team edged out David Lloyd 37 to 31 games after both sides had drawn two sets each during a match disrupted by strong winds.

The pairs of Avril Pugh and Jean Thomson and Ann May and Margaret Harris beat David Lloyd’s second pair 6-2, 6-1, but came unstuck against the firsts, losing 3-6, 1-6 and 6-7, 3-6.

Captain Pugh said: “The playing conditions were very difficult but it was great the way both teams coped and produced some good tennis. I was really pleased when we just edged it to get the win.”

The Division Nine contest between Bromsgrove D team and Hagley A team saw the former run out 3-1 winners.

First pair of Ros Cooke and Lesley Hodson had two convincing wins 6-4, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-1.

They were well-supported by Connie Wedelich and Catherine Maund who beat their opposite pair 6-0, 6-1, before losing 3-6, 4-6 to Hagley firsts.
