MICHAEL Pardoe celebrated his 150th fight with victory as Droitwich Amateur Boxing Academy enjoyed a successful night at Stourport Civic Centre on Friday.

The 27-year-old was among seven winners representing the Academy as he outpointed Telford’s Ammir Fiaz.

Other Droitwich victories were recorded by 11-year-old Joe Doyle, who confirmed his promise by outpointing the previously unbeaten Oliver Fenton from Portsmouth to take his record to five wins out of six.

There were also impressive wins for Jack Roberts, 16, on his debut, Luke, 15, and Richard, 14, Evans, Lewis Smith, 14, and George Butler, 13.

Elsewhere, Aidan Cawley, 22, was unlucky to drop a split points decision, while Michael O’Toole came very close to celebrating his 16th birthday in style after conceding weight and age to a late substitute despite a first-class display.

Both Harry Smith, 16, and Danny Evans, 12, had the crowd going as they battled unsuccessfully in entertaining bouts.

Danny Bridges, 12, also put up a rousing display in dropping a close decision to a talented southpaw.
