BROMSGROVE SPORTING 4, PELSALL VILLA 0

HAT-TRICK hero Mark Bellingham grabbed his 600th non-league goal as Bromsgrove Sporting eased past Pelsall Villa in the Midland Combination Premier.

Bellingham, who has plied his goal-scoring talents for a host of clubs in the West Midlands, shows no sign of slowing down despite being classed as a veteran.

His tally of 16 goals in 14 starts makes him the division’s most potent hitman.

The Rouslers started brightly and Sean Williams fired a shot into the side netting.

But he eventually found the target and grabbed Sporting’s first goal of the match four minutes later, with a stinging right-footed volley.

Keeper Jake Bedford ensured Sporting’s lead just before half-time when he saved Aaron Sylvester’s effort.

Bellingham saw a soft effort parried by Pelsall’s John Miller, but the keeper quickly dived on the ball to stop Sporting getting a second goal before the break.

Darius Darkin’s volley was saved by Miller and then minutes later Matt Poyner’s curling effort was inches away from the far top corner of the goal.

The pressure paid off for the home side as they doubled their lead within nine minutes of the re-start.

Bellingham slotted home an accurate shot to make it 2-0.

Two minutes later and things got worse for the away side after the striker tapped in his second of the match.

Substitute Chris Heath almost got the home side’s fourth of the match with his second touch after coming on. His header, inside a goalmouth scramble had to be cleared of the line from a Pelsall head.

Sporting eventually bagged their fourth of the match in another goal-mouth scramble inside the Pelsall box.

Pelsall did eventually create an attempt on goal in the second half in the last few minutes.

Substitute Alex Pammenter’s side footed shot looked destined to give the away side a late consolation goal but Jake Bedford produced a fantastic finger tipped save to stop the ball flying into the top corner of the goal.

John Miller did well to save two shots inside a crowded box but the ball fell to the feet of Bellingham who finished from six yards out.
